The Midwest Astrochemistry Consortium is a new organization
designed to bring together chemists, physicists, and astronomers in the
midwestern region of the U.S. who are working in the interdisciplinary
area of astrochemistry. The motivation is that at any given university
or institute there are relatively few people working in this field, so
uniting on a regional level can provide us with more opportunities for
discussion and cross-fertilization of research ideas.
Our first event was a meeting that is co-sponsored by the
Enrico Fermi Institute at
the University of Chicago, on
April 20, 2007. More information about this meeting can be found
here.
Subsequent meetings have been held annually in Urbana on the University
of Illinois campus.
If you are interested in learning more about the consortium, please

Consortium site.
